We fitted a daily cyclic covariate (DCC, dashed line) to those aggregate diel patterns, which summarizes the diel activity patterns per species as expressed in the movement properties μ, σ and κ. DCC is a mixture distribution of a cosine and four wrapped normal distributions with 24 h periods
