(A) To quantify within-year fidelity, we calculated fidelity metrics by comparing a focal trip made by an individual in a given year to another trip made by that same individual in the same year (within-individual comparison), as well as comparing the focal trip to a trip made by a different individual of the same species in the same year (between-individual comparison). (B) To quantify between-year fidelity, we calculated fidelity metrics by comparing a focal trip made by an individual in a given year to another trip made by that same individual in a subsequent year (within-individual comparison), as well as comparing the focal trip to a trip made by a different individual of the same species in the same year that the within-individual comparison trip was made (between-individual comparison)
